Every audit finding has a person behind it: someone who did not know, did not understand why, or did not have time. Training addresses all three.
Make it practical
Teach on the line, with the equipment people use. Show the thermometer, the colour-coded boards and the record sheet, and let them try.
Make it role-specific
- Food handlers: hygiene, cross-contamination, temperatures, allergens.
- Supervisors: monitoring, corrective actions, coaching.
- Managers: HACCP, verification, culture and resources.
Measure it
Short quizzes, observed practice and fewer findings at internal audits tell you whether training worked better than attendance sheets do.
A food safety culture is what people do when nobody is checking.
